Default Zero means that the default balance on your Switch Visa Card is $0.
Your funds sit in an FDIC-insured bank account similar to any other bank. However, the money in your bank account is not available to spend from the debit card unless you authorize it by tapping to spend. Once you tap a wallet, the money in that wallet will be available to spend.
If you try to spend more than what’s there, the transaction will decline. If there’s enough money in the wallet, the transaction will go through smoothly.
Why Default Zero?
Default Zero technology significantly helps combat fraud. If your card is lost or stolen, you can easily un-tap the available wallet from your Switch Mobile App which will render it unable to process transactions until you decide to turn it back on. Complete control of your account is at your fingertips.
